This Weekend in Long Grove: December 3-4
We sure do love the holiday season here in Long Grove! We’ve had a blast these past few weeks, and we’re keeping the holiday fun going this weekend. As always, our beautiful shops will be open for your holiday shopping pleasure. You’ll be sure to find some unique gifts for everyone on your gift list here!
While you make your way through the shops, keep an eye out for Santa as he wanders about the village of Long Grove on Saturday and Sunday from 1-3pm. To spend even more time with the man in red, RSVP for the Breakfast with Santa at Seasons of Long Grove. The festivities don’t stop there, though. You can also attend the Nutcracker Tea or take a holiday carriage ride around the village. Plus, if music is your thing, you’ll love the variety of musical shows occurring throughout the weekend including the Hersey High School Dickens Carolers, Thomas Swenson, Blue Road Blues Band and Guyz with Bad Eyez.
Nutcracker Tea
At Seasons of Long Grove
Get into the holiday spirit at the Nutcracker Tea at Seasons of Long Grove, taking place every Saturday and Sunday through December 18th at 2pm. Sip on your choice of eleven loose-leaf teas while you sample delectable savories themed in the Nutcracker tradition.
Don’t forget to bring your favorite tea party hat because, like the Mad Hatter Tea Parties that Seasons of Long Grove is known for, hats are part of the attire for this event. Don’t have a hat for the occasion? Don’t worry, you can always borrow one from Season’s bountiful collection.

Breakfast with Santa

Join Santa and a special friend for Breakfast with Santa at Seasons of Long Grove on Sunday, December 4th at 9am. Not only will your kids love the delicious breakfast, but Santa will also have a special gift for all children, whether they’ve been naughty or nice. Make sure to bring your camera– You’ll want to treasure this memory for years to come! The cost is $13.95 for adults and $9.95 for children ages 2-12. Thomas Swenson and Guyz with Bad Eyez
At Beans & Leaves Café
Take a break and enjoy a hot beverage of your choice at Beans & Leaves Café while Thomas Swenson serenades all those within ear shot on Saturday, December 3rd from 3-5pm. Originally from Madison, WI, this accomplished guitarist and singer has made quite a name for himself in Long Grove with his combination of blues, jazz standards, and classic rock songs.
For your musical interlude on Sunday, Beans & Leaves will be hosting Guyz With Bad Eyez, a musical duo made up of Don Humbertson and Merv Collins. Don Humbertson, the Maestro, is in charge of the lead vocals and his Martin 12-string guitar while Merv Collins handles the Fingerstyle and Lead Guitarist duties (as well as the occasional backup vocals) for the Guyz. These “Guyz” are the perfect addition to a wonderful weekend in Long Grove.
Blue Road
At Village Tavern of Long Grove
Once you finish your shopping, head over to the Village Tavern for some food, a drink and some great music. Blue Road will take the stage at 6:30pm and will continue to rock until 10:30pm. The vocals of Steve Nevets, slide guitar stylings of Gary Gand, jams coming from Joan Gand’s classic Hammond B-3 style organ and barroom piano and the beats from Tony Dale and will keep you dancing all night. This is definitely a show you don’t want to miss!
