This Weekend in Long Grove: December 16-18

Still looking for those last Christmas gifts? The shops of Long Grove are sure to have those unique gift items for all of the people on your shopping list. Not only that, but many of our merchants are offering holiday specials to help you save some money on those perfect gifts. We’ll be posting deals on our Facebook and Twitter pages, so make sure you’re following us! While you are on our Facebook page, answer the daily “I Love Long Grove Holiday Sweepstakes” question for a chance to win gift certificates and prizes, all valued $50 or more!

Shopping isn’t the only thing that will be going on this weekend in Long Grove, though. We’ve also got some wonderful holiday events and plenty of music filling the village.

Join Seasons of Long Grove at the 5pm or 7:30pm seating of the Dickens Dinner on Friday. Enjoy a traditional Victorian buffet including specially crafted pies, cakes and other treats as well as the live holiday entertainment of local Christmas carolers, all for $27.95 for adults and $13.95 for kids ages two to twelve. This Weekend in Long Grove: December 9-11

We’re looking forward to another festive holiday weekend here in Long Grove. Santa will be flying into town again this weekend to walk around and talk to all the good little boys and girls. Bells will be jingling on the carriage rides as they make their way around the village. Seasons of Long Grove will be hosing the Nutcracker Tea and Breakfast with Santa but, if you plan to attend these events, you’ll need to call 847.634.9150 to make a reservation. This Weekend in Long Grove: December 3-4

We sure do love the holiday season here in Long Grove! We’ve had a blast these past few weeks, and we’re keeping the holiday fun going this weekend. As always, our beautiful shops will be open for your holiday shopping pleasure. You’ll be sure to find some unique gifts for everyone on your gift list here!

While you make your way through the shops, keep an eye out for Santa as he wanders about the village of Long Grove on Saturday and Sunday from 1-3pm. To spend even more time with the man in red, RSVP for the Breakfast with Santa at Seasons of Long Grove. The festivities don’t stop there, though. You can also attend the Nutcracker Tea or take a holiday carriage ride around the village. We love the holidays here in Long Grove. So, to celebrate the holidays in style, we’ve got tons of great things planned! We’ll start the weekend by celebrating all that we’re thankful for and finish it with carolers, carriage rides and Santa himself. So, head on over to Long Grove to enjoy all of this weekend’s fun.

Long Grove Turkey Trot

5k & 8k Run/Walk & Kids Dash

There’s a new course this year for the Turkey Trot; contestants will finish, wreathed in glory, under our famous covered bridge. It’s open to walkers and runners of all speeds and all participants will receive a sweet, long-sleeved event shirt (as will volunteers). Registration available up to and through day of event.

Along with your loved ones, you’ll also be met with live music, fresh beer and hot cider at the finish line. Wear your souvenir bib number with pride or give a thumbs up to those wearing this badge of honor. Be at Long Grove Cafe at 7:30 a.m. if participating.

Decking the Halls & Lighting the Tree in Long Grove on Saturday, November 19th!

There’s nothing quite like the holidays in Long Grove! The cool crisp air, the smell of apple cider donuts wafting from the Long Grove Apple Haus, the enchanting sound of carolers throughout the village and the contagious “ho-ho-ho” from our favorite man in red. Long Grove always delivers when it comes to holiday spirit, and this weekend will be no exception.

Start your day at the Irish Boutique where Colette Greene, Belleek pottery artist, will be signing limited edition Celtic Lace Bowl pieces. As you head outside, be on the lookout for The Holiday Jinglers as they carol their way through the village, spreading holiday joy (and beautiful music) wherever they go. At 3pm, the big man himself will show up with his special guest the “Humbug” — the perfect opportunity to snap the pictures for your holiday cards!

Peruse our vast array of shops and get some of your Christmas shopping done early this year. Then, drop into Beans & Leaves Cafe between 3-5pm to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and the music stylings of Thomas Swensen. After that, head over to Apple Haus Square for entertainment by Long Grove Performing Arts Academy at 3:30 and the big Tree Lighting Ceremony at 4pm! Even the biggest Scrooge will embrace the holiday spirit when they lay their eyes on our tree in all its glowing splendor. Finally, end your night at the Village Tavern with a show by the Wind Gypsys.

All in all, a perfectly festive way to spend a Saturday.

Long Grove Holiday Preview


Join us in Long Grove as we usher in the holiday season with shopping, art, food and holiday fun at the Holiday Preview on Saturday, Nov. 12, noon-5 p.m.

Watch designer Rick Vercellotti as he decorates the Long Grove Community Tree in Apple Haus Square from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. It’s a cheery waypoint to visit as you amble about the  village; you’ll find live music and wine tastings throughout.

Stop by the Long Grove Confectionery for “Myrtle” tastings and then swing over to Long Grove Apple Haus for apple pie tastings–just gets better and better, right?

Get some of your holiday shopping done, from trinkets and stocking stuffers to fine art for a loved one who deserves such things. A world of gift options are available, including apparel, home decor, holiday decorations, gift sets, accessories and so much more. Many of the shops will be offering discounts and specials just for the Holiday Preview.
